A hot comforting beverage that hails from the beautiful Kashmir. Kahwa leaves simmered in water with cinnamon, cardamom and the added crunchiness of almonds.

This hot cup of tea is something you can smell, sip and bite too! Give it a go, you can find most of these ingredients online and we promise, it'll be worth it.
Recipe
INGREDIENTS
4 tsp kashmiri green tea leaves
1/4 tsp saffron (kesar) strands​
1 small piece cinnamon
2 cardamoms, slightly crushed
2 cloves
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup finely chopped almonds
* For garnish use a few strands of saffron
INSTRUCTIONS

Mix the saffron strands and 1tsp of warm water in a small bowl and keep it aside.

Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan, add the cinnamon stick , cardamom, cloves and sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for approx. 3 to 4 minutes.

Lower the flame, add the kashmiri green tea leaves, mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.

Strain the tea in a deep bowl using a strainer.

Transfer the mixture into a saucepan, add the saffron-water mixture and almonds, mix well and cook on a slow flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously.

Serve the kashmiri kahwa immediately.
